WordPress 6.2 Beta 3 has been released, and contributors are hosting a live product demo on March 2nd to showcase the new features. The latest version of WordPress includes several improvements to the block editor, including improved accessibility for keyboard users, better support for internationalization and localization, and more options for customizing blocks.
The WordPress team is encouraging everyone to test out the beta version before it’s officially released in April 2021. This will help ensure that any bugs or issues can be identified and fixed before the final release. To get started with testing, you can download the beta from wordpress.org/download/release-archive/.
In addition to bug fixes and performance enhancements, WordPress 6.2 introduces some exciting new features that make creating content easier than ever before:
• Block Patterns: With this feature, users can quickly create complex layouts using pre-defined patterns made up of multiple blocks—all without having to write any code!
• Global Styles: Users now have access to global styles which allow them to customize their entire site’s look by changing font sizes or colors across all pages at once instead of having to manually adjust each page individually.
• Improved Accessibility: Keyboard users will find navigating through posts much easier thanks to improved navigation shortcuts as well as better focus management when editing blocks in the post editor screen. Additionally, there are also improvements in how images are handled within posts so they’re accessible even if they don’t have alternative text specified (alt text).
• Internationalization & Localization Support: The WordPress team has added support for right-to-left languages such as Arabic and Hebrew as well as other language packs available from translatewordpressdotorg . This makes it easy for anyone around the world who speaks a different language than English to use WordPress without having difficulty understanding its interface or menus due its translation into their native tongue(s).
