The Mercantile, the official store of WordPress, is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a limited edition collection of swag. The store has been closed for several months due to the pandemic but is now reopening with an exclusive selection of items that commemorate two decades of WordPress.
The Mercantile was first opened in 2001 as part of Automattic’s mission to make web publishing accessible and easy for everyone. Over the years, it has become a popular destination for WordPress fans looking to show their support and appreciation for the open source project by purchasing merchandise such as t-shirts, mugs, stickers and more.
To mark this special occasion, The Mercantile is releasing a limited edition collection featuring some classic designs from over the years along with some new ones created specifically for this milestone event. This includes t-shirts featuring artwork inspired by Matt Mullenweg’s famous “Code Is Poetry” quote; mugs decorated with illustrations depicting various aspects of WordPress development; and stickers displaying iconic images associated with the platform like its logo or mascot (the blue whale).
All items are available in both men’s and women’s sizes so everyone can join in on the celebration! In addition to these commemorative pieces, The Mercantile also offers other products related to WordPress such as books about coding or design techniques used within it.
To further celebrate its 20th anniversary, The Mercantile will be hosting giveaways throughout 2021 where customers can win free merchandise from their online shop. They will also be offering discounts on select items throughout each month leading up to December 2021 when they plan on having their biggest sale yet! So if you’re looking for something special to commemorate your love affair with WordPress then look no further than The Mercantile – your one stop shop for all things WP related!
